More than simply Prague's "premiere Internet café," the Terminal Bar was a multimedia cyber-culture center and ISP. I started as a one-person design department, responsible for the front end of the organization's extensive, Oracle-driven website and web sites for the ISP's business clients. I eventually expanded the department to five programmers, designers, and sales people.
Being at the forefront of the internet technology in the mid-'90's, the Terminal team was invited to do online documentation and broadcast of some high profile events at Prague Castle and the Austrian Ars Electronica Center. Remember the heady mid-nineties internet frontier era? Remember CUCME? Imagine a session projected on the wall of a 16th century palace with Benoît Mandelbrodt and the Vasulkas present. That was pretty cool.
