Risograph Print Workshop
Back in January I had the great fortune to attend Creative Morning’s Risograph workshop hosted by Guts & Glory.
You may have seen Risograph printing and taken it for silkscreen or litho. Read all about it on Wikipedia, but it’s a type of mimeograph machine (archaic photo copier) that applies one color of ink at a time based on laser print masters. If you remember Print Gocco, it’s a machine version of that.
I started with brush and ink drawings and comped the artwork in Photoshop. Then created the separations as if for offset or silk screen. In retrospect, I would have separated the colors differently but I’m pretty happy with the results. You can see it below the snapshots.
Thanks, Creative Mornings and Guts & Glory!
